Yeah, I noticed --- just before I abandoned "Leaving Atocha Station" '...the often elliptical drift of thought, appearing spontaneous even as they layer linguistic and conceptual complexity.' I have no patience for these fawning reviews or the self-absorbed author who can't make his mind up whether to write poetry or prose. Looking at the list of McArthur awards recipients for the past few years, I don't recognize any of the names. Obviously they are discriminating against the Thriller genre.
